I am using the picture of Pastor Paul Holt of FBC in Magdalena, New Mexico who is one of my best friends ever! Pastor Paul has not only been a best friend, but a mentor in my journey as a Pastor. Paul also has been, and still is, such a major factor in helping build up the ministry of FGGAM through his talents as a writer, webmaster and his graphic designing skills. Pastor Paul has never charged the ministry anything for his work, like all of our volunteers, which is around 20 at the present. Pastor Paul has trusted me with his congregation over the years, to fill in for him at times, what an honor! I do not know if many people fully understand the trust a Pastor has to have to invite someone into his Church to speak. I am so honored that several Pastors invite me to their Church to preach. When I saw this message by Ron Edmondson in CHURCHLEADERS, I thought not only of Pastor Paul, but many of my Pastor friends who have full-time jobs and also Pastor a Church. I admire them so much, in a godly way. They are true heroes!
Pastor Paul Holt works full-time at a Dental Office as business manager in Socorro. This Sunday I am filling in for Pastor Dave Schumm of FBC in Glenwood, New Mexico who works full-time at the mines near Silver City. Pastor Sheldon Wolf of FBC in Reserve works as a full-time plumber, Pastor Paul Anthony Jaramillo of the Open Door Bible Ministry in Los Alamos works full-time at a funeral home in Espanola. Pastor Alfonso Antillon of Majesty Worship Center in Albuquerque works full-time at the Heart Hospital in Albuquerque, his assistant Pastor, Ed Solis, works full-time in the medical field. Pastor Richard Garcia of the Christian Family Church of God in Belen works full-time for Amber Care. Pastor Mark Grothe of Cross Christian Fellowship in Albuquerque works full-time at the Veterans Hospital. All are my heroes, All invite me to preach, what an honor. There are many Pastors throughout the world that work at full-time, or part-time jobs! There are also many Pastors like myself, that can do what they do because their angel wife works to help fund the ministry. Sharon works as a nurse. Without my dear, sweet Sharon there never would have been FGGAM! Many do not see her everyday sacrifices! So many men and women of God sacrifice much to serve God’s people. There are husbands and wives who team together all over the world to oversee a Church. That would be our dear friends Pastor Randall and Cindy Floyd at the Assemblies of God in Clayton, New Mexico, who invite me to preach from time to time. Many Pastors are a testimony to us! So many Pastors are my mentor!
I pray that more folks will recognize the sacrifice of Pastors and their families. They are at the forefront of the Spiritual warfare in the world.
