The medical condition of former prime minister Ariel Sharon has sharply deteriorated in the last 24 hours, leading his doctors to warn that the end might come soon. Sharon, who was one of Israel’s greatest generals before going into politics, had a stroke and went into a coma nearly eight years ago and has been kept physically alive but in a vegetative mental state at Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer ever since.
