A Cloud Of Witnesses..
Good morning beautiful people, good morning. Today, is the service of my good friend and prayer partner, her dad’s funeral. As I was thinking and praying for them this morning, I know many of you have had losses as well. God’s Word tells us there is a time to mourn in Ecclesiastes. Although she is in another part of the world, many will connect for the service by Zoom.
Recently, I lost a dear friend and my first mentor. When I think of her now, I think of the good memories, the many laughs and words and prayers we shared. Someday, I want to journal them so I will never forget.
I am so thankful this morning that we walk with a God that knows our name, knows everything about us, loves us and brings comfort to mourning hearts. The Bible tells us in Hebrews this; Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. (Hebrews 12:1-3)
It makes this girl happy to know I have parents, siblings, mentors etc. in heaven and cheering me on saying you got this, press on, enjoy every day, love life, love Jesus, be thankful, stay positive, remember the good, forget the bad, you have unfulfilled destiny. It brings joy back to my life in an instant and I can look forward to a good day.
Aren’t you glad for the cloud of witnesses cheering us on this morning? Stay strong beautiful people and let God fulfill the destiny he has for you. There is only one of you, unique, created in the image of a great God with a great plan. (Genesis 1)
Let’s Pray:
Father, thank you for bringing comfort to hearts this morning as only the good Father can. Father, may many believe about the cloud of witnesses in heaven, cheering us on.
Father, thank you for knowing our names, loving our names, redeeming our names and ordering our footsteps.
Father, although the day will look different for all of us around this globe, we can rest assured, you go with us wherever we go. Amen.
