Today, conservative candidate for Governor of New Mexico, Rebecca Dow, released a rebuttal to Mark Ronchetti’s slanderous lies in her new ad, ‘Inexcusable’. The ad highlights Ronchetti’s willingness to exploit a child’s trauma for political gain by distorting the truth about Dow’s involvement with the incident.
Since founding AppleTree Education Center in 1999, Dow has spent the past 20 years as an educator providing families in Sierra County with comprehensive education services tailored to their needs and helping children reach their full potential. Dow also founded several faith-based nonprofits geared towards bettering the education options for families in rural Sierra County. To suggest that she enabled the abuse of a child is a feeble lie by Ronchetti, somebody who has never once served his community in any capacity or relinquished financial and personal gain to strengthen New Mexican families as Dow has.
“The only truth this ad revealed is that Mark is willing to do or say anything to gain power,” said Dow. “By revictimizing a child in his false ad he’s trying to score cheap political points at the cost of making that child relive one of the worst moments of his life. I was not involved in the day-to-day functioning of the Boys and Girls Club as a member of the Club’s board. To suggest that I enabled this horrific event is slanderous and beyond insulting as somebody who has dedicated their life to protecting children and helping them reach their fullest potential.”
A transcript of the ad is below:
Rebecca: I’m Rebecca Dow and I approve this message.
It’s shocking how blatantly dishonest Mark Ronchetti will be to win an election.
His claims are false and slanderous, as I’m sure a judge will agree.
I’ve dedicated my life to helping children learn and grow, serving on dozens of children’s charity boards.
Mark Ronchetti knows I had no direct involvement in this incident.
But he’s so desperate for power he’s willing to use abused children and their families for political gain.
That is inexcusable.

This fits the politics that plays our in America everyday!!! EGO! POWER AND MONEY!!!!
Why do people resent the power of God but devise idols that can only feed their greed for power over others?
From the writings of the Rev. Billy Graham
Q: It is hard to watch the breakdown of our nation and to hear the talking heads pontificate on the changes that have taken place in society, particularly the pride in living without religious trappings. Why do people resent the power of God but devise idols that can only feed their greed for power over others? – I.W.
A: Mankind is innately religious. He must have a god of some kind, and he plays with the gods of his own …
It seems like this could be easily put to rest with documentation. Much of the case was sealed, but it was reported by the Journal and NM Political Reporter that she was the top defendant in the case. The lawsuit is available online.
It’s not mud slinging if the information is true and relevant–and few could argue that people don’t deserve to know this kind of stuff when they go to vote. Dow should come out with proof of her innocence.
Thanks for the information Sir!
