I pray that you vote wherever you live in America. It is our duty. ‘GOT QUESTIONS’ PUTS IT THIS WAY: It is our contention that it is the duty and responsibility of every Christian to vote and to vote for leaders who promote Christian principles. God is most certainly in control, but that does not mean we should do nothing to further His will. We are commanded to pray for our leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-4). In terms of politics and leadership, there is evidence in Scripture that God has been displeased with our choices of leadership at times (Hosea 8:4). The evidence of sin’s grip on this world is everywhere.

Report ranks New Mexico children last in math and reading

How many times does New Mexico need to hear that we are last in education? I have heard this excuse ever since we moved her in1995: “My first reaction is we can do better and we will do better,” New Mexico Secretary of Education, Dr. Kurt Steinhaus said after reading the report card. I am tired of excuses Governor Lujan Grisham, you have not turned the tide. I a very sick and tired of New Mexico being last in most everything good! Near the top in violent crime and last in education. First in abortion. Near the bottom in child well-being. Awful track record New Mexico. How can God be pleased with us on how we take care of His children?

America’s report card reveals that the nation’s public schools get an F for failing students, as plunging test scores show 20 years of educational advancement were wiped out during the COVID lockdowns. Here’s what you need to know.

From The Christian Post:

A new survey overseen by prominent Evangelical pollster George Barna suggests economic issues like gas prices and inflation will have more impact on Evangelical voters in the upcoming midterm elections than cultural issues like abortion and religious freedom.

The Barna-led Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University released a report Thursday examining the concerns of 2,275 adults living in the United States ahead of the Nov. 8 midterm elections. More Here

Got Questions on voting?

From Got Questions Biblical answers:

It is our contention that it is the duty and responsibility of every Christian to vote and to vote for leaders who promote Christian principles. Much of the suffering on earth is because of godless leadership (Proverbs 28:12). Scripture gives Christians instructions to obey legitimate authority unless it contradicts the Lord’s commands (Acts 5:27-29Romans 13:1-7). As born-again believers, we ought to strive to choose leaders who will be themselves led by our Creator (1 Samuel 12:13-25). Candidates or proposals that violate the Bible’s commands for life, family, marriage, or faith should never be supported (Proverbs 14:34). Christians should vote as led through prayer and study of both God’s Word and the realities of the choices on the ballot.

Abortion is on the November 8th midterm ballot in five states: California, Michigan, Vermont, Montana and Kentucky. The contentious issue raises the stakes for voters there and around the country, affecting turnout for referendums and candidates. Here’s what you need to know.

The Salt of the Earth, from Adrian Rogers:

PRAY OVER THIS

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.”

PONDER THIS

Salt speaks of the saving life of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. And what does salt do? Jesus said, “You are the salt of the earth.” He was speaking to fishermen who preserved their fish with salt. For one thing, salt decontaminates. There’s a purifying element to salt. It is the salty ocean that bathes the shores of this world, that keeps this Earth from decaying. If you took the salt out of the ocean, everything would turn to a stench.

We need the decontamination of the salty Gospel in our world today. We can try to point to many different things, but the problem in our world is bigger than one issue. It is saltless saints. That’s where the problem is. The problem is in churches all around—salt that has lost its flavor in a world that is rotting. Jesus said, “You’re to be the salt of the Earth.” How will you respond?

  • What are some ways you can live as the “salt of the Earth?”
  • Who has shown you the hope and joy of the Gospel? How are those people like salt in your life?

PRACTICE THIS

Think about one person you can share the joy of being a follower of Christ with today. Share the hope of God’s cleansing Word.
