Let us continue with our King this Holy Week.
Sunday Jesus was welcomed into Jerusalem with Shouts of Glory!
“Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ The King of Israel!”
They welcomed Jesus as their King!
On Monday Jesus entered the Temple.
And what He saw went against everything He had come to do.
Animals were used to Sacrifice to God in the Temple on the Altar for the forgiveness of their sins. The money changers had tables set for the buying of their sacrifice to the Lord. Doves, pigeons, sheep, cattle are there in the open in the Temple for purchase!
The purpose for the money changers wasn’t for the souls of the people,but for profit.
Jesus had an expectation when He entered the Holy Temple, people searching for the Father. Prayer,supplication,worship! But He didn’t find this. There was no praise,no prayer, but the selling of heartless sacrifices. The greed of an unrighteous heart that needed the healing of the Savior.
Jesus was about to become the ultimate sacrifice. He is the perfect Lamb to be slaughtered. The last Sacrifice to the Father by His willing Son,Jesus!
He turned over the table’s and freed the animals,Jesus cleansed His Father’s Temple one last time. His Temple was meant to be Holy!
He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ” (Matthew 21:13 NKJV)
You cannot buy your salvation! You cannot buy Holiness! There is only One sacrifice that is now needed to make all of us right before the Throne of God, Jesus Christ the Messiah!
After Jesus reclaims the Temple for His Father something happens.
The lame and the sick come to the Temple. Jesus had cleared the path for them to enter freely. And now the Father’s House is used for what it has always been meant for. Jesus heals them!
And the children in the Temple are shouting out,
“Hosanna to the Son of David!”
They had seen the saving, healing power of the Messiah! And could only recognize and praise Him as their needed Savior of all the souls of humanity!
We can never be good enough. We can never be clean enough. We can’t buy anything that will give us the assurance of Eternal life. It is only through the Sacrifice that Jesus will give to all in a few short days!
Remember today that He is The Way to the Throne of the Father. He is the Truth and the fullness and fulfillment of the Holy Scriptures. It’s through Him and Him only that we can obtain Eternal life.
Holy Tuesday comes. Jesus and his disciples go to the Mount of Olives! He gives His Olivet Discourse. He speaks of the things to come, His Second coming and the final judgment!
Those that have eyes to see and ears to hear will see and listen!
Give yourself to Him as the lame and sick came to Him in the Temple, humbly and seeking Jesus to heal every fiber of your being! Then sing out loud like the children.
Hosanna to the Son of David!
