Our dear colleague and friend, Apostle Barbara Gould, passed into glory at 7:11 PM, Tuesday, June 27, 2023. She will be missed greatly by all who had the privilege to minister alongside her in New Mexico.
Barbara served on the board of directors for FGGAM since its inception in August of 2012, contributing to make FGGAM a ministry focused on God and His Word. She had an enormous influence and was a fervent prayer warrior throughout her years with us.
Barbara was the founder and apostolic leader of Emmanuel Ministries International (EMI) and in her own words stated, “We (EMI) are called to build people, to raise them up in Godly character and a fervent desire to follow Christ and fulfill His plan and purpose for their lives. We love and build His sheep and we believe what Jesus said, that He will build His church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it! We are learning to do just that, to love and build His people and help them to fulfill their destinies in Christ Jesus. That is excellence – God’s vision! God’s people! God’s way!” Apostle Barbara was steadfast in that pursuit, never wavering in her love for people and her Savior.
As many of you know, Barbara hailed from Kingston, Jamaica and attended Alpha Academy there before moving to New York. She studied at Rhema Bible Training College (Class of 1988) and later moved to Rio Rancho, New Mexico, establishing EMI in December 2011. She loved to worship and we opened many of her annual gatherings with a song she composed, “Nation of God Arise”.
Psalm 96:3 “Declare His Glory among the nations” was her battle cry and that she did with joy and tenacity!
While praying with Barbara just over a week ago, shortly after she had been admitted to Lovelace Hospital, the Lord assured her that the words spoken over her would be fulfilled through the legacy of the generation of “sons and daughters” she had impacted and raised up during a life well lived. Today we too say, “Well done Apostle Barbara. Amen. So be it. Amen!”
Our prayers go out to Barbara’s family and friends for comfort and peace during this time.
