Got Questions states: As parents, we cannot imagine a more traumatic experience than the death of a child. All parents naturally expect their children to outlive them. Such a loss is an extraordinary, out-of-order event that brings with it an overwhelming sense of pain and lingering grief. It is a life-altering experience that presents unique challenges to parents as they seek to rebuild their lives without their child.
It would be presumptuous for anyone to tell parents how to handle the death of a child. However, we do know that those who yield their lives to God are more apt to recover from such a loss with a greater sense of normalcy than those without a genuine and positive faith in our Creator. We mourn with the father and all of the family members. We lived in the South Bend area for 15 years. I know where LaPorte Ave. is. Our hearts hurt.

A Christian father from South Bend, Indiana, was left in shock after five of his six children died after a massive blaze erupted at his home on Sunday evening.
“I went and found him at the hospital, and he was in shock,” Elijah Leciano, a neighbor and friend, told CBS Chicago. “When I went with him to identify his children, which is hard, prayed over them and just told him, ‘If you need something, call me.’”
A statement from the South Bend Fire Department Monday said they received calls about a residential fire at 222 North LaPorte Ave. in the “early evening hours” on Sunday. When firefighters got to the home, flames had already engulfed both the first and second floors. More Here
Got Questions states: Mourning is the state of being in deep grief. We mourn over a profound loss, such as the death of a loved one or a crippling accident. We also mourn over our own sins or mistakes. We mourn for the purity of heart we once enjoyed or for a future our choices have destroyed. Mourning is part of being human. It is an expression of our hearts when something we value has been taken from us. It can also be a way to convey our agreement with God’s moral law that we have violated. Mourning, although painful, can help us align our hearts with the heart of God: “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted” (Matthew 5:4). More Here
