Across the nation, above the fold of newspapers and websites of various kinds, unless it’s the Albuquerque Journal, then it’s at the bottom of the sidebar, President Joe Biden’s mental wellness, along with his mishandling of classified documents, is rocking the country.
Special counsel Robert Hur’s 345-page report details how they “uncovered evidence that President Biden willfully retained and disclosed classified materials after his vice presidency when he was a private citizen.”
However, no charges are recommended because “Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
Regardless of the double standard being applied to President Biden as opposed to former President Trump, we are left to observe the condition of our nation and its leaders.
A few months ago, I finished studying the book of Isaiah. I couldn’t help but notice the similarities between the Lord’s description of Israel at that time and that of the United States today.
Take Isaiah 1:4-7:
“Alas, sinful nation, A people laden with iniquity, A brood of evildoers, Children who are corrupters!
They have forsaken the Lord, They have provoked to anger The Holy One of Israel,
They have turned away backward.
Why should you be stricken again?
You will revolt more and more. The whole head is sick, And the whole heart faints.
From the sole of the foot even to the head, There is no soundness in it,
But wounds and bruises and putrefying sores; They have not been closed or bound up,
Or soothed with ointment. Your country is desolate, Your cities are burned with fire;
Strangers devour your land in your presence; And it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.”
Uplifting stuff, I know. But it is worth understanding the situation we find ourselves. Our leaders are corrupt, prideful, and arrogant because, as a nation, we will not turn from our sins; we love our iniquity.
Later in verse 23, the Lord says,
“Your princes are rebellious,
And companions of thieves;
Everyone loves bribes,
And follows after rewards.
They do not defend the fatherless,
Nor does the cause of the widow come before them.
This certainly describes Joe Biden’s career in government, but Donald Trump’s too when he defended Bud Lite after some healthy donations.
President Joe Biden is easily the most wicked president of my lifetime and that is saying something with the lot we have had over the last five decades.
Mr. Biden has not only promoted the murder of children but found ways to use our taxes to pay for the death of the innocent in new and creative ways. He has promoted and even dictated sexual immorality on a scale heretofore never imagined and found innovative ways to promote racism better than Satan himself ever could.
While the president’s soul is certainly not healthy, neither is his mind. I have always said that the mental failings we see near the end of one’s life, no matter how it’s diagnosed or described, strip away the filters put in place to reveal what is in the heart, and Joe Biden is no different.
His mind is becoming more sick as his memory fails him and his thoughts are more clouded but his character is exposed for everyone to see.
Consider one more verse from Isaiah 3:4-5:
“I will give children to be their princes,
And babes shall rule over them.
The people will be oppressed,
Every one by another and every one by his neighbor;
The child will be insolent toward the elder,
And the base toward the honorable.”
We might look at this passage and say that neither Joe Biden or Donald Trump are children, in fact, just the opposite. But then again.
What we as believers should understand is that as our nation and the world turn from God, we will become oppressed, we will lose our liberty. Mental, emotional, and spiritual children will do the oppressing.
The report from special counsel Robert Hur is sad for the nation not just because it declares what everyone already knew that Joe Biden mishandled classified documents and that he is an elderly man with a badly failing and sick mind.
It is also sad because it exposes that we are not electing competent and moral leaders to the highest offices of our nation. If we want a change of direction and moral, competent leaders we need to repent of our wickedness as a people.
