The Christian Broadcasting Network (“CBN”) reports that Arkansas is one of 14 states offering public funds for students to attend private schools. As an example, the halls are bustling at Providence Academy in Rogers, Arizona, which is a classical Christian school operating at capacity with 580 students. Seventy-one (71) of those students are enrolled through the state’s new school voucher program.
When Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee-Sanders was elected, she quickly made education reform the focus of her administration. Parents may now select the school of their choosing for their children by setting up “educational freedom accounts” which provide $6,600 in public funds per student.
In Arkansas, there are currently 94 private and parochial schools taking part in the voucher program, with nearly 5,000 students enrolled.

GOT QUESTIONS offers a helpful summary of what the bible says about raising our children. Children are a heritage from the Lord (according to Psalm 127:3). God places our children in families and gives parents guidance in how they are to be raised. The goal of good parenting is to produce wise children who know and honor God with their lives! My brothers and sisters, this is so very encouraging! Parents are responsible for their children, including their children’s education – not the government.
Don’t misunderstand, I realize that public education is extremely helpful in a modern society, especially with so many single-parent families or families with both parents working full time; however, a blind allegiance to civil government in deciding what constitutes a proper education for our children, especially considering that civil government almost always intentionally avoids any teaching from a biblical point of view, is shortsighted and perhaps damaging for those of us who desire for our children to think and walk in the ways of the Lord.
In this writer’s view, my own state of New Mexico would be well advised to take a position of school choice, similar to what Florida and Arkansas have done. The future of the church is our children. The future of our country is our children. As the ministry of FGGAM believes, living our lives from the perspective of a biblical worldview is God’s will. It is His very best for us. There is no substitute for God’s wisdom, and certainly not the wisdom of the world!
Thank God for strong, Christian leaders such as Governor Huckabee-Sanders, who understand how to navigate government from a biblical worldview and do not falsely pretend that faith in Christ, politics and civil government are inherently incompatible with each other!
Let’s not forget:
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (Amplified Bible)
“These words, which I [God] am commanding you today, shall be [written] on your heart and mind. You shall teach them diligently to your children [impressing God’s precepts on their minds and penetrating their hearts with His truths] and shall speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up.”
Psalm 127:3 (NKJV)
“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, [t]he fruit of the womb is a reward.”
Psalm (NKJV)
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, [a]nd lean not on your own understanding; [i]n all your ways acknowledge Him, [a]nd He shall direct your paths.”
1 Corinthians 3:19 (NLT)
“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, ‘He traps the wise in the snare of their own cleverness.’”
1 John 2:15-17 (NKJV)
Do Not Love the World
“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”
Praise Jesus forevermore!
