Psalms 9:9-10 NKJV
[9] The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble. [10] And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.
It is hard sometimes for us to admit our weaknesses.
To see and to understand just how fragile our lives really are is a sobering thought.
We can have the strongest wills.
We can have the ability to withstand some of the hardest things that come against us.
We may feel like giants but really are grasshoppers in comparison to God’s vast creation.
There is so much that is out of our control.
Especially when natural disasters happen.
In Ruidoso New Mexico a fire has broken out. It has consumed at least 20,000 acres of land.
1,500 structures have been destroyed.
Evacuations of people and livestock had been instituted.
Many of us have families and friends that we aren’t sure if they are safe.
Unfortunately, some have lost their lives.
Can we come together as the Body of Christ and come to the Throne of God on their behalf.
Heavenly Father,
We come to Your Throne of Mercy and Grace, humbly but boldly by the Name of Your Son Jesus.
We know Father You are seated above High on Your Throne and see.
You see the devastation that is happening.
You see the hearts of Your people crumbling.
There is fear, worry and doubt.
There has been loss and injury.
We come together Father to stand in the gap in prayer for those going through this disaster.
Be their Refuge when it seems like there is nowhere to turn. Protect their hearts ,bodies and souls.
Be their Refuge in this time of trouble.
May their eyes gaze above the flames in trust and Hope.
Let the power and presence of Your Holy Spirit surround them. Comfort their hearts and minds. Those that are hurting and have experienced loss, loss of homes, property, belongings and life of a loved one, bring comfort to them now.
I’m sure there is hopelessness filling within them, Lord, but let them be assured that in You and through You nothing is impossible!
If it be You will, may the clouds well up and rainfall on the destructive flames.
Protect all that have come to serve that community, fire ,rescue, police, chaplains, Churches, whomever that has heard the call to serve that community make them brave and give them the resources, strength, wisdom and knowledge needed.
May this be a time that those souls that are seeking Refuge find peace in Jesus Christ.
May there be a trust developed that no fire can torch.
May a love for You start to grow in their hearts for You.
Show them Your Everlasting Mercy.
Pour out Your Grace. Let them feel the Perfect Love of Your Heart.
Guide them to safety.
Build beauty from ashes and restore what has been taken.
Give these people rest.
Rest in their bodies, minds and spirits.
When it seems like all is lost, and there’s no Hope, point them to the Cross of Christ where Hope is found and is waiting.
We Praise Your Name.
We give You honor and glory.
We give You thanks.
May You, in some way, somehow be Glorified in all of this.
We ask all of this expecting Lord that You have heard and are already at work.
We ask all of this in the Holy, Precious Perfect name of Jesus Christ Of Nazareth
Amen
