All Things Well
Mark 7:32-37 NKJV
[32] Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him. [33] And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue. [34] Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.” [35] Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly. [36] Then He commanded them that they should tell no one; but the more He commanded them, the more widely they proclaimed it. [37] And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.”
There is astonishment when we see the Glory of God at work.
Our heart seems to skip a beat!
Our breath gets taken away!
Our eyes water in amazement at what the King of Glory has done!
Finally an answered prayer.
The ear of God was bent to your request.
His compassion finally has shown its mercy!
But there is something that comes with these Blessings.
Obedience to Christ will bring a Blessing to your life that you never expected at a time you never expected.
Mark 7:32 NKJV
[32] Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him.
These ones had heard of the healing power of Jesus.
They bring a man. After hearing that Jesus was in the region some people bring a deaf and mute man to Him. Their coming to Jesus and their desperate pleading show their faith that Jesus can heal.
They present this man who is in a desperate condition.
They bring Him to Christ.
There is sacrifice and effort that has to be in place to bring someone to the foot of the Cross. There must be a heart that is tender and has the same compassion for others. There must be repentance in that same heart. There must be a belief in faith that what these Gospels say are true. There must be a desire to see people pulled from the fires of destruction.
It is demanding.
It’s not easy but it is one of the things that the Lord has commanded us to do.
Nothing is more rewarding for a follower of Jesus Christ than to know that you were the one to drop the seed of faith into someone’s life.
They loved this man enough to bring him to Christ.
They ask Jesus on this man’s behalf.
Do you have people like this in your life?
Are you a person like this for someone else?
Will the answered prayer to someone else be because of your obedience to the Lord?
Mark 7:33-34
[33] And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue. [34] Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.”
He was healed!
This was not the expectation.
There was a preconceived method that was expected but sometimes Jesus does the unexpected.
Jesus pulls this man aside.
This man can’t hear, he is deaf.
Jesus puts His fingers in his ears.
Why would He ever do something like this?
They ask to lay hands on the man to be healed.
He puts His fingers in his ears, it’s like letting him know this is what was about to be fixed.
Then Jesus spits. He touches the man’s tongue. This too was about to loosen up.
This man wasn’t blind. He could see Christ standing in front of Him. He just couldn’t hear Him. He couldn’t speak of Him.
Then Jesus looks up to Heaven and sighs.
Letting this man know that the God of Heaven, YAHWEH, would do the healing!
Healing comes from The Throne of God.
Jesus is communicating with this man to let him know all of this!
Jesus meets this man exactly where he was.
This was not the expected way!
But the Lord Jesus Christ will sometimes answer in an unexpected way for a reason.
That reason is to show that He is still the King of Glory!
He still rules over the masses!
He chooses and dictates how to heal, who to heal and when to heal them!
Even with all of the Love and Mercy in His precious heart, it will not be moved because of our good intentions, but only in submission and obedience!
Those that brought this man to be healed knew that this man,Jesus of Nazareth, could heal.
I’m sure they heard of the healing within His Hands.
Maybe they knew someone that had an encounter with Him.
Maybe the desperate love for this deaf and mute man was enough to take a chance.
Sometimes in our lives we are witness to the power of Christ.
Sometimes that miraculous touch of grace is not JUST for the ones being healed and changed, but it is for those to be a witness to the mercy of God!
Mark 7:37 NKJV
[37] And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.”
Jesus has done all things well!
They were astonished! Beyond measure. Something they could not believe. Only an act of God can be so good.
He has done all things well.
This is the consensus of not just one person but all the people there!
Bring those that are hurting.
Bring those that are spiritually deaf and mute.
Come on behalf of those that need Jesus to bring new life.
Be astonished at what He does, not how He does it!
Prepare your hearts to believe and have faith for someone else until they believe themselves.
Stand in the gap, intercede and be prepared to be amazed at the Grace, love and mercy that Jesus will shower.
Drop your expectations of how and when.
Endure in hope, faith and assurance that no matter the method the Glory of Christ will be revealed!
If God has given you ears to hear, eyes to see and a mouth to speak, say those things.
Ask with your whole heart and your whole mind to hear His voice above all other voices and to be obedient to it.
Ask Him to give your the Words to speak for His Glory and Kingdom to intercede and bring one more to His healing touch!
Bring those that are hurting.
Bring those that are spiritually deaf and mute.
Come on behalf of those that need Jesus to bring new life, a new heart. A new way to hear and speak.
Bring them to the Goot of Christ!
