Vice-Presidential Candidate J.D. Vance Says Former President Trump Would Veto Federal Legislation Banning Abortion

During his first term as president, Trump vowed and kept his promise to appoint conservative justices to the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, giving abortion-related legislative power back to the states.

Since losing his re-election bid in 2020, Trump has gradually softened his stance on abortion, especially as the nation moves closer to the General Election this November.

Christian author and podcaster Allie Beth Stuckey posted that “[a]bortion is not a ‘reproductive right.’  Women already have the total freedom to reproduce as they see fit.  At the point of abortion, reproduction has already happened.  Abortion kills an innocent, helpless person.  Abortion is not a right.”

Here is a YouTube video of former President Trump from a few months ago speaking about his views on abortion.  During the video, Trump compares his position to that of former President Ronald W. Reagan because he supports exemptions allowing abortion for rape, incest and the life of the mother.

My brothers and sisters, the bible makes it clear that life is exceedingly precious to God, that we were all made in the image and likeness of God, and that the Father knew us and established good plans for our lives before we were ever formed in mothers’ wombs:

Genesis 1:27-28 (NKJV)
“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.  Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘[b]e fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it…’”.

Jeremiah 1:5 (NKJV)
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you…”.

Jeremiah 29:11-12 (NKJV)
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.  Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.”

Psalm 139:13-16 (NLT)
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.  Thank [Y]ou for making me so wonderfully complex!  Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.  You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.  You saw me before I was born.  Every day of my life was recorded in [Y]our book.  Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.”

The bible also tells us that children are a gift (a reward) from the Lord:

“Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, [t]he fruit of the womb is a reward.”

As this writer discussed in a recent FGGAM article HERE, the argument that abortion is health care and reproductive medicine is false on its face, as the undisputed goal of every abortion is not to heal or to protect, but to kill the unborn child.  The argument that killing one’s own unborn baby is a ‘human right’ – as many persons have argued – is ridiculous on its face:

“You shall not commit murder (unjustified, deliberate homicide).”

Please pray for our elected officials and those running for elective office, whether at the state or federal level, and especially for former President Trump, who until recently was a much stronger advocate for life.

Do not be deceived, as the ‘elephant in the room’ is that if abortions are authorized up to the 15th week of gestation, which many persons apparently support, it would account for about 90-95% of all elective abortions!  How can one support the millions of abortions comprised within the 90-95% bracket and still consider themselves ‘pro-life’?

We need to encourage those mothers in need to seek out adoption or to reconsider the birth of their babies in light of the word of God.  I am convinced that because of His love for us, the Lord will provide for those babies born to mothers who aren’t able to sufficiently care for their babies!

In the State of New Mexico, we need to pray for our elected leaders, and in particular, Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, who supports abortion with essentially no limits.  So many in New Mexico have been deceived to believe that aborting their babies as a matter of convenience is perfectly acceptable and constitutes a form of healthcare.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

The bible tells us that Satan was tossed out of heaven and is known on earth as the deceiver of the whole world:

Revelation 12:7-9 (ESV)
Satan Thrown Down to Earth
“Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon.  And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.  And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world [emphasis mine]—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.”

The bible tells us that the devil is a murderer and the father of lies:

John 8:44 (ESV)
“You [the Pharisees] are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies [emphasis mine].

The bible also tells us, in complete contrast to the love of Christ, that the devil’s purpose is to steal, kill (murder) and destroy that which brings glory to God.  He hates God.  He hates you and me.  His desire for mankind is that we would perish without salvation unto perdition (eternal damnation or hell):

John 10:10 (NKJV)
“The thief [the devil or Satan] does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.  I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
