The Jerusalem Post reports that Colonel Anan Abbas with the Israel Defense Forces’ (“IDF”) Northern Command, revealed in a recent interview that the IDF’s recent preemptive attacks against Hezbollah required months of meticulous preparation and that “Hezbollah is trying to assess the extent of the damage they’ve sustained.” He added that “[the IDF] attacked thousands of launchers and crippled Hezbollah’s capabilities. It appears Hezbollah is still in shock.”
According to Abbas, the mission of the IDF’s Northern Command is to “ensure the residents of northern Israel can return to their homes safely,” and that despite Hezbollah’s attempts to launch a significant attack against Israel on Sunday (8/25/2024), the Northern Command was well-prepared for their tactics, with the IDF delivering a decisive response to halt the assault.

My brothers and sisters, sometimes what we DON’T hear or read about in the mainstream press can be the most telling. The fact that neither Iran nor Hezbollah has, as of yet, responded with a massive and decisive attack against Israel, as promised, lends credence to Colonel Abbas’ comments that the IDF has reminded the terrorist entities what it actually faces in provoking Israel with an existential threat.
As this writer has stated before, Hamas, and now Hezbollah, break every known and internationally-accepted rule of warfare. They are terrorist organizations with the expressed goal of killing all Jews and removing the nation of Israel from the face of the earth.
As followers of Christ, let’s continue to pray for the protection of the Jewish people (God’s chosen people), the state of Israel, and all of the persons suffering and at mortal risk, whether they are abducted hostages, military members or displaced citizens (including those Palestinians in the Gaza Strip who are suffering greatly). Let’s also pray for a quick and just end to this war, without the need for further escalation against Hezbollah or Iran.
