NBC News reports that Ryan Routh (58), the man arrested in connection with the attempt on former President Donald J. Trump’s life on Sunday (9/15/2024), is a former Trump supporter who turned against the former president for foreign policy reasons, including apparent sympathy toward Iran.

Court papers disclose that Routh had been camped out in a wooded area with a loaded SKS-style rifle near the Trump International Golf Club for 12 hours before he was spotted by U.S. Secret Service agents.  He was equipped to kill, as Routh abandoned a scoped and loaded SKS-style rifle, a digital camera, two backpacks and a plastic bag containing food, as he fled from the area.

In Routh’s self-published book last year, titled “Ukraine’s Unwinnable War:  The Fatal Flaw of Democracy, World Abandonment and the Global Citizen-Taiwan, Afghanistan, North Korea and the End of Humanity,” Routh wrote that he voted for Trump in 2016 and came to regret it after Trump made a “tremendous blunder” in 2018 and withdrew the United States from the Iran nuclear deal.

He wrote that “I must take part of the blame,” adding that Trump “ended up being brainless, but I am man enough to say that I misjudged and made a terrible mistake and Iran I apologize.”  Routh further wrote that “[y]ou are free to assassinate Trump as well as me for that error in judgement and the dismantling of the [Iranian nuclear] deal.”

My brothers and sisters, clearly Routh suffers from some unreasonable sense of self-importance and a degree of mental instability, as if it were his responsibility to manage, affect or temper U.S. national foreign policy.  It seems, based on the limited information currently publicly available, that Routh is neither consistently politically conservative (e.g., right-wing, Republican) nor liberal (left-wing, Democrat), as his stated views vacillate between the two perspectives.

What is certain, however, is that he suffers with a depraved mind.  As I discussed in a FGGAM article HERE the other day, evil has become commonplace in our lives nowadays – searing the conscience and corrupting the mind.  It became Routh’s stated goal to see a former U.S. president murdered!

Sadly, many persons are raised today in families without the fear of God, without faith in Christ, and never or rarely setting foot inside a church.  Such persons become ‘low hanging fruit’ for the evil one.

The Bible says that what we sow, we reap, whether good or evil:

Galatians 6:7-8 (NKJV)
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.  For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”

The Bible says that the evil one exists to to steal, kill and destroy.  He hates you and me, and he especially hates Jesus, who came to reconcile us unto the Father and give us eternal life:

John 10:10 (NKJV)
“The thief [the devil or Satan] does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.  I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

The Bible says that those who willfully refuse to acknowledge God may be given over to a depraved mind:

Romans 1:28-29 (Amplified Bible)
“And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God or consider Him worth knowing [as their Creator], God gave them over to a depraved mind [emphasis mine], to do things which are improper and repulsive, until they were filled (permeated, saturated) with every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice and mean-spiritedness.”

The Bible also tells us that Satan can blind the minds of the unbelieving from accepting the gospel and seeing Christ as the very image of God:

2 Corinthians 4:3-4 (Amplified Bible)
“But even if our gospel is [in some sense] hidden [behind a veil], it is hidden [only] to those who are perishing; among them the god of this world [Satan] has blinded the minds of the unbelieving to prevent them from seeing the illuminating light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
