The Jewish Press reports that despite warnings yesterday from the Israeli government to the Netherlands, Muslim gangs executed a planned and coordinated attack against Israeli Maccabi Tel Aviv (soccer) fans who came to Amsterdam to watch their team play against Ajax last night (11/7/2024).

The attack was preplanned, and local authorities ignored the warnings they received from Israeli security authorities.  Footage shows fans being violently attacked, kicked, and even run over by cars, with allegations and videos purporting the attempted lynching of Jews.  Testimonies from Amsterdam revealed that Muslims had organized their locations in advance and were hunting down Jews near hotels and other locations in the city.

Israeli UN Envoy Danny Danon posted the following on social media:

“We are receiving very disturbing reports of extreme violence against Israelis and Jews on the streets of Holland.  There is a pogrom currently taking place in Europe in 2024.  These are the true faces of the supporters of the radical terrorism we are fighting.  The Western world needs to wake up now.  This is the time when the United Nations should immediately and clearly condemn the violence of the Palestinians and their supporters.  The Dutch authorities must take decisive action against terrorism now.”

My brothers and sisters, antisemitism is running rampant throughout much of the world and Europe is absolutely no exception.  It is hard to believe that in 2024, roughly 80 years from WWII, the lessons of the holocaust have been forgotten.  Shame on the Dutch police, which have reportedly hired antisemitic officers who are allowed to ‘wave off’ duty assignment to the Holocaust Museum and other assignments, such as protecting Jewish soccer fans – even in the face of formal notification from Israel that attacks were about to happen.

As Christians, we should not relent in praying for the Jewish people and the nation of Israel.  As a reminder, Israel comprises the Holy Land where Jesus was born, lived, crucified, resurrected (defeating death and bringing eternal salvation) and is the very location where Jesus will gloriously return to earth to establish His reign and peace on the earth.  How any believer could ignore or minimize the plight of Israel, and by extension, the entire world, is hard to fathom!

Whoever desires peace must seek Jesus!  The Bible tells us that the government will rest upon the shoulder of the Prince of Peace:

Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV)
“For unto us a Child is born, [u]nto us a Son is given; [a]nd the government will be upon His shoulder [emphasis mine].  And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

I’ve said it many times before, but it is so very critical that we remember what the Bible has to say about the Jewish people and Israel:

Deuteronomy 7:6 (NKJV)
“For you [the Jews] are a holy people to the Lord your God; the Lord your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself [emphasis mine], a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth.”

Zechariah 2:8 (Amplified Bible)
“For thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘[a]fter glory He has sent Me against the nations which plunder you—for he who touches you, touches the apple of His eye.’”

The world is suffering from the scourge of evil brought on by the false god of Islam, leading Muslim terrorists to kill God’s chosen people.  Lord have mercy!  According to the Bible, Satan is the deceiver of the whole world and he comes to steal, kill and destroy:

Revelation 12:7-9 (ESV)
Satan Thrown Down to Earth
“Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon.  And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.  And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world [emphasis mine]—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.”

John 10:10 (NKJV)
“The thief [the devil or Satan] does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.  I [Jesus] have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

Jesus tells us that we should trust in Him and not be misled through ungodly faiths and false messiahs, and that prior to His return, there will be wars and uprisings between nations and kingdoms:

Luke 21:8-10 (Amplified Bible)
“He [Jesus] said, ‘[b]e careful and see to it that you are not misled; for many will come in My name [appropriating for themselves the name Messiah which belongs to Me alone], saying, I am He, and, [t]he time is near!  Do not follow them.  When you hear of wars and disturbances [civil unrest, revolts, uprisings], do not panic; for these things must take place first, but the end will not come immediately.’  Then Jesus told them, ‘[n]ation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom [emphasis mine].’”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
