In The Daily Article, Ryan Denison writes that following former Florida Representative Matt Gaetz’ decision to withdraw from consideration as U.S. Attorney General, he posted the following on X (formerly Twitter):

“While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition.  There is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle, thus I’ll be withdrawing my name from consideration to serve as Attorney General.  Trump’s DOJ must be in place and ready on Day 1.”

News broke Thursday evening (11/21/2024) that President Trump had already pivoted to former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi for the cabinet position.

Speaking of Bondi, Trump stated the following:

“For too long, the partisan Department of Justice has been weaponized against me and other Republicans — Not anymore.  Pam will refocus the DOJ to its intended purpose of fighting Crime, and Making America Safe Again.  I have known Pam for many years — She is smart and tough, and is an AMERICA FIRST Fighter, who will do a terrific job as Attorney General!”

The Associated Press (“AP News”) reports today (11/23/2024) about Bondi’s selection and summarizes her background, citing that she’s been a longtime ally of President Trump.  In March 2016, on the eve of the Republican primary in Florida, she endorsed Trump at a rally, picking him over the candidate from her own state, Florida Senator Marco Rubio.

Bondi made history in 2010 by becoming Florida’s first female attorney general after being endorsed by former Alaska governor and (then) vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.  She subsequently challenged President Barack Obama’s signature health care law and focused on human trafficking issues.  She was Florida’s attorney general from 2011 to 2019.

Bondi also served on Trump’s legal team during his first impeachment trial in 2020 and has been a vocal critic of the criminal cases against Trump, and specifically the Biden administration’s special counsel, Jack Smith, who charged Trump in two federal cases.

The Bible tells us that wise men and women seek ‘well advised’ counsel.  Let’s pray that Bondi, if confirmed, serves the United States with godly wisdom and integrity.

Proverbs 13:10 (Amplified Bible)
“Through pride and presumption come nothing but strife, [b]ut [skillful and godly] wisdom is with those who welcome [well-advised] counsel.”

Praise Jesus forevermore!
