Last night I was blessed to attend a men’s conference, “Soldiers of the Cross” at Majesty Worship Center, 3250 Coors Boulevard NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico. The church is pastored by Pastor Alfonso Antillon.

It was so refreshing for me to hear the message he had for us men last night about being men of God. Pastor Alfonso delivered the message with such love and passion! All sold out to God. Love and treasure your wife and family. Stand strong in the love of Jesus. Amen!

I met many friends there and my teammate here at FGGAM Chuck Akeley played drums on the worship team, along with my longtime friend Tim Buckler playing the piano!

The Soldiers of Cross have been meeting on the first Monday of each month, but there will be no meeting in January 2025 as preparations are being made for the annual, two-day SOTC conference scheduled for February 21-22, 2025.

Pastor Alfonso consistently calls for unity in the body of Christ and for Christians to take back our state for JESUS!

A Cross we must bear?

No, this isn’t what He meant—although it’s not necessarily wrong to refer to some problem we are having as a “cross” we must bear. In Jesus’ day, a cross was a symbol of suffering, and we all have trials and afflictions that may be very hard for us to bear—even with God’s help.

But Jesus meant something far deeper than this when He told His disciples to carry their cross. He said to them, “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me” (Luke 9:23). In Jesus’ day, a cross wasn’t just a symbol of pain and suffering; it was mainly a symbol of death. What Jesus was telling them is that they needed to put to death their own plans and desires, and then turn their lives over to Him and do His will every day.

You see, Jesus doesn’t simply call us to believe that He existed, or even to believe that He can save us. He calls on us to commit our whole lives to Him—to trust Him alone for our salvation, and then to follow Him as His disciples. He said, “Anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:27).

Is Christ the master of your life? Have you put to death your own plans and committed yourself to His will for your life? Don’t be satisfied with anything less, for there is no greater joy in life than following Christ every day.

My day was so wonderful yesterday

Many Churches in America have forgotten to build bridges to folks who do not know JESUS! Too many love preaching to the choir! WAKE UP CHURCH! IT IS CALLED THE GREAT COMMISSION!

Clara Nelson is one of my mentors. She has taught me so very much. She has such a gentle heart and soul.

I feel sorry for you if you do not have Christian elders as mentors. We all should. I have many! PRAISE THE LORD! I soak in their knowledge. They have so much to offer the world.

One of my mentors is from my hometown of Windom, Minnesota, Clara Nelson! Clara turned 98 years young yesterday! SHE CALLED ME! She is always checking on me and Sharon and praying for us!!!!!! Glory! I have heard so many stories over the years how Clara has brought so many people to JESUS! The Windom area is so very blessed have her godly communication center there. What is that you ask? God’s communication center is the Bible. God’s Word. Clara spreads it all over by phone now.

One of my all-time favorite stories of Clara was told by Dewey’s Hall-of-Fame Coaches! Yes I have my own Hall-of- Fame Folks. My hero Franz Boelter, told the story how Clara introduced him to Jesus when he was a young man. Clara came up to him at the Windom swimming pool and told him about JESUS! Franz told this at one of the Windom Revivals FGGAM hosted years ago.

Clara wrote this years ago……this is from her book, “Gifts From God”

I’m Climbing Another Hill

I’m climbing another hill, there is no reason to be still. Serving Jesus each day and everyday. Lord, please show me what to do and say. God gives us so many blessings each day. Thank you Lord for health and strength. There are so many people lost in sin, Lord, please show me how to bring them in. Jesus promises peace and rest, my friend, just come to him and ask Jesus to come in. Into the arms of Jesus, he took your place, suffered and died for you, what amazing grace. Jesus arose, the Easter message we all know, the power of God raised Jesus from the dead this power is within us when we ask Jesus in. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from sin.

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Clara Nelson models JESUS. How about you and I? Clara’s life preaches JESUS. Does yours? Are you showing people the way to JESUS? Clara is in my Hall-of-Fame for seed planters! What are you doing with your life?

I ask again, do people see JESUS in you? If not, why not?

Clara is 98 and still in ministry! Hello??? Have you answered your call from JESUS? Clara does all she does in the love and tenderness of JESUS! Glory!
