BREAKING NEWS

CNN reports that the suspect in last week’s murder of United Healthcare’s CEO Brian Thompson has been arrested.  The suspect, Luigi Mangione (26), was arrested on weapons charges while eating at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

Mangione apparently left New York City on an interstate bus following the murder.  Upon his arrest, Mangione was found to be in the possession of multiple fraudulent IDs, a U.S. passport, and a firearm and suppressor – which according to New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch, was “consistent with the weapon used in the murder.”  The weapon was apparently capable of firing a 9mm round and may have been 3D printed.

Police discovered a multi-page, handwritten document in Mangione’s possession, in which he railed against the health care industry and suggested that violence was the answer, stating, in part, that “[t]hese parasites had it coming.”
