Be still

Dear Family of Our Lord Jesus Christ,
Good morning all! We love you, we have a FULL CUP of blessings for you and yours this day! Praise God!
I pray today that you will soak in lessons from God.
I just posted this at FGGAM.ORG www.fggam.org   Please visit us often for the news and inspiration you need.
The basis of this whole CUP stands on Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God.”

The Word for The Day: Stand Still On Your Holy Ground

I believe this may be the most important thing you read all year, or in your life!
The lesson that God is about to teach us…..
It is not of me, but of God.
God has given us a promise to stand on, and I put every thing I have into these words from the Bible.
“Don’t be afraid. Just stand still and watch the Lord rescue you today. The Egyptians you see today will never be seen again. The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm.”
What would be the hardest thing to do with the Egyptian army charging straight at you? Failing health? Failing marriage? Job loss? Family problems? Money Problems?
The hardest thing to do is just what God said, STAND STILL.
God doesn’t just play chicken; He also plays flinch. When we find ourselves in this kind of situation, we want to do something, anything. We have a nervous energy that wants to solve the problem as quickly as possible. But God tells them to do nothing but pray. The closer the Egyptian army got, the more intense their prayers became. They stood their holy ground. They prayed like they had never prayed before.
So why does God wait until the very last second to make His move? Why does He let the Egyptian army get that close? Once again God who provides just enough, parts the Red Sea just in time.
Praying is trusting that God will fight our battles for us.
Do you take your hands off  the challenges you face? Maybe you are facing an extreme challenge today, I pray these words help. Let us take hands off of the problems we face and put them into the hands of God Almighty.
I am still learning to do this, it is one of the hardest things for me to do, to let go, stand still and pray.
I do know that it is the best! But the flesh tries to take over. I have learned more and more and more, that when I take my hands off, stand still and pray it works out far better than I could have ever imagined.
This morning God had me reflecting on my life up to this point. He had me revisit different situations in my life that I tried to push through. Not Good. People get hurt when we charge through problems. Then He had me look at where I am today, my family is totally reliant on God, with the ministry of FGGAM.
The past month our family has dealt with severe health issues and other challenges like many of you. I have seen friends having such horrible problems.
I am standing still, praying constantly and standing on my proclaimed holy ground, for God’s Glory alone. I know I will be tested daily, but I am digging in deep.
One of my favorite verses in my walk with Jesus Christ is…….
Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God.
Let us be in constant prayer as Paul teaches us, in the name of Jesus, Amen!
P.S. One of the best books for you prayer life is the “The Circle Maker” by Mark Batterson. I strongly urge you to read it.

The Evangel Christian Center was full Friday for the funeral of Pastor Ray Franks. Mark Twain said, “Live your life so that at your funeral even the undertaker will cry.” That certainly was the way Pastor Ray lived is life. It was a wonderful celebration of a man who lived his life pure as snow. There was a book mark that was handed out at the funeral with a writing Ray wrote just a short time ago, in November:
Life can be wearisome and often we lose sight of the long view just trying to keep things together in our daily lives—jobs, children, relationships, payments, and the like. It is a trick of the enemy to keep us focused on the here and now, and not realizing we have a glorious future. Remember what Jesus said, “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14: 1-3
Don’t let the trials and pressures of today, take your eyes off the glorious future God has prepared for you!

He Only Takes The Best
God saw he was getting tired
and a cure was not to be,
so he put His arms around him
and whispered, “Come with me.”
With tear-filled eyes we
watched him
suffer and fade away.
Although we loved him deeply,
we could not make him stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard-working hands put to rest.
God broke our hearts to
show to us
He only takes the best.

I found myself analyzing my life as the funeral went on……I want to strive to be more “Ray like”, Jesus like. Ray would arise every morning and read the Word of God and pray at 6am. During the weekraymond-franks he and his staff would pray in the church starting at 8am. There were many times when Ray would tell me, “Dewey, I prayed for you today.” The way Ray lived his life reminds me so of Billy Graham, they are of the same. Jesus like, pure as snow.
Pastor Ray is deeply missed by thousands, from his work in the Church, School, TV and radio. Not hundreds, but thousands.
We are blessed that his work and lessons are with us yet today.
FGGAM got this over night from a reader who wants to be nameless, I do know him , so it is authentic,  he does have a name! LOL! This is in response to a recent FGGAM post, “Where Did I Come From?” by Stephen Bockemeier, I believe it will give you a chuckle!
The recent item on “Where Did I Come From?” reminded me of the story about Curious George:
It seems that one day the zookeeper noticed that the monkey was reading two books–the Bible and Darwin’s “Origin of Species.”
Surprised, he asked the monkey, “Why are you reading those two books?”
“Well,” said the monkey, “I just wanted to know if I am my brother’s keeper or my keeper’s brother.”
You can inquire about the answer the next time you talk with a monkey
