Oh My! My dear friend, Devonna Denee Reyes, makes an excellent point here – a Biblical point. What about Churches that sell JESUS for a profit! This has been a complaint of mine forever and ever! So many tell me and Sharon they have left the Church because of MONEY! MONEY! Thank you wonderful sister in Christ!

Devonna Denee Reyes:

What if the answer was simply to sell merchandise AWAY from the place where the Lord was being worshipped? So that which is sacred and holy remains respected as such. Why is that hard? It’s a very easy thing to do.

I’ve seen the Anointed One be used to gather tithes and offerings, sell books and other merchandise, and while there’s nothing inherently wrong with collecting tithes/offerings, selling books and other merchandise, it’s the location of the merchandise and intention of the heart that matters most.

Becoming a ‘prophet for profit’ has been warned about for years now – the err of Balaam, using his prophetic office to be rewarded by man instead of trusting in God as Father to provide.

Lord help Your people…
