He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matt. 17:20

Mountain Moving Faith

Author Unknown

A small congregation in the foothills of the Great Smokies built a new sanctuary on a piece of land willed to them by a church member. Ten days before the new church was to open, the local building inspector informed the pastor that the parking lot was inadequate for the size of the building. Until the church doubled the size of the parking lot, they would not be able to use the new sanctuary.

Unfortunately, the church with its undersized parking lot had used every inch of their land except for the mountain against which it had been built. In order to build more parking spaces, they would have to move the mountain out of the back yard.

Undaunted, the pastor announced the next Sunday morning that he would meet that evening with all members who had “mountain-moving faith”. They would hold a prayer session asking God to remove the mountain from the back yard and to somehow provide enough money to have it paved and painted before the scheduled opening dedication service the following week.

At the appointed time, 24 of the congregation’s 300 members assembled for prayer. They prayed for nearly three hours. At ten o’clock the pastor said the final “Amen”. “We’ll open next Sunday as scheduled,” he assured everyone. “God has never let us down before, and I believe He will be faithful this time too.”

The next morning as he was working in his study there came a loud knock at his door. When he called “come in”, a rough looking construction foreman appeared, removing his hard hat as he entered.

“Excuse me, Reverend. I’m from Acme Construction Company over in the next county. We’re building a huge new shopping mall over there and we need some fill dirt. Would you be willing to sell us a chunk of that mountain behind the church? We’ll pay you for the dirt we remove and pave all the exposed area free of charge, if we can have it right away. We can’t do anything else until we get the dirt in and allow it to settle properly.”

The little church was dedicated the next Sunday as originally planned and there were far more members with “mountain-moving faith” on opening Sunday than there had been the previous week!

Thank you to Darlene Quiring for sending this excellent Devotional in! What a great read for National Day of Prayer and all days. Thank you Darlene.

His mother was the person who was hiking in the foothills and was struck in the head by a falling rock. She is in UNM Hospital in a induced coma with a brain injury and lung problems from her intupation.
Her name is Judy.
The docs say it’s a 50/50 chance of her surviving.
Thank you. Bob Hartley

I am weeping of joy this morning with all the wonderful Godly contributors we have at FGGAM and the CUP! One of my favorite Christian writers Shona Neff has now joined FGGAM! Look for her posting’s at www.fggam.org. We now have nearly 20 writers contributing to the site for God’s Glory Alone and over 1,000 visitors every 4 days! PRAISE GOD! All for the Glory of God, to bring the light of Jesus to one person at a time!
Now here is a Post from one of my favorites! LOL LOL I have to say all our writers are my favorites! LOL! Monica Miller-Ruhl makes me think…..I have to read her writings two to three times and pray over them. There is always a message just for me. I had a Preacher send me a note last time Monica posted and he said he was going to use it in a sermon. We are finding that more and more that writings posted on the CUP and at FGGAM are used by Pastors

Pray as you read this from Monica Miller-Ruhl the lovely wife of Pastor Bill Ruhl who is Vice-Chairman of FGGAM..
THE GRACIOUSNESS OF UNCERTAINTY
“It doth not yet appear what we shall be.” 1 John 3:2
Naturally, we are inclined to be so mathematical and calculating that we look upon uncertainty as a bad thing.  We imagine that we have to reach some end, but that is not the “nature of spiritual life”.  The nature of spiritual life is that we are certain in our uncertainty, consequently we do not make our nests anywhere.  Common sense says—“Well, supposing I were in that condition…” We cannot suppose ourselves in any condition we have never been in.
Certainty is the mark of the common-sense life: gracious uncertainty is the mark of the spiritual life.  To be certain of God means that we are uncertain in all our ways, we do not know what a day may bring forth.  This generally said with a sigh of sadness, it should be rather an expression of breathless expectation.  We are uncertain of the next step, but we are certain of God. Immediately we abandon to God, and do the duty that lies nearest, He packs our life with surprises all the time.  When we become advocates of a creed, something dies; we do not believe God, we only believe our belief about Him. Jesus said, “Except ye…become of a child.  We are not uncertain of God, but uncertain of what He is going to do next.  If we are only certain in our beliefs, we get dignified and severe and have the ban of finality about our views; but when we are rightly related to God, life is full of “spontaneous”, joyful uncertainty and expectancy.
“Believe also in Me,” said Jesus, not—“Believe certain things about Me.”  Leave the whole thing to Him, it is gloriously uncertain how He will come in, but He will come.  REMAIN LOYAL TO THE LORD…………continually=a heart issue.
I felt led to share the above thoughts that come from Oswald Chambers.  God’s message then in the early 1900’s is relevant today—it is spiritual life!
Last week the Lord gave us a clear word not to have our identity in the battle but rather in the Lord himself.  It is true that we are in a raging battle daily while here on earth, however we are to learn to position ourselves in abandonment to the Lord and “let Him reign” in us under all conditions and circumstances. Our identity is to be “sustained” in Christ—this is “Bridal language”.  We are joined to the LAMB and not divided from Him.  We take His name, the LAMB, that is above every name and let Him express His victory in us so that He is glorified.  This is a matter of giving up our rights for His that He might own us completely wholeheartedly as His Bride.  We lose our identity completely in exchange for His identity/nature eternally.
A divided heart wants God on our terms.  It is a heart full of “buts”, “ifs”, “human reasoning”, “our own standards”, “our own desires”, “our own agenda’s”… etc.  “It says I will love you if you do this for me….” or “I will believe you if such and such…”, etc.  These are doomed to fail all the time.  Sadly, it is a heart condition that wants its own way and stubbornly refuses to learn and accept God’s ways.   Consequently we make a god in our image instead of allowing God to make us in His image.  We must be willing to allow the Lord to iron out these wrinkles and remove these spots as our joy and good pleasure wholeheartedly to Him, the LAMB.
We must learn to give God unreservedly “preeminence” in all matters so that we can learn His ways and know Him as He truly is—unfeigned!  We have the choice now to turn this important corner and qualify as His Bride.  One who has been completely made into His image and likeness and will eternally have her vocation with the LAMB.
So, let us let the King of glory in! Psalm 24
THE EARTH is the Lord’s, and the fullness of it, the world and they who dwell in it. [1 Cor 10:26.]   For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the currents and the rivers.   Who shall go up into the mountain of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His Holy Place?  He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted himself up to falsehood or to what is false, nor sworn deceitfully. [Matt 5:8.]  He shall receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation.  This is the generation [description] of those who seek Him [who inquire of and for Him and of necessity require Him], who seek Your face, [O God of] Jacob. Selah! [Ps 42:1.]  Lift up your heads, O you gates; and be lifted up, you age-abiding doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates; yes, lift them up, you age-abiding doors, that the King of glory may come in.  Who is [He then] this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory.  Selah! (AMP)
The things we accumulate in battles create difficulties, mind-sets, etc. and God desires to rid our hearts from the impurities.  Is this not Beautiful?  Is this notAgape?  How wonderful is our God—too wonderful to imagine or comprehend in the natural mind!  Can we hear His desire?  Can we trust His wisdom?  Will we allow Him to have His way in us?  Do we want to be “one” with Him?  Can we quiet ourselves from “all distractions” and wholeheartedly give ourselves to the LAMB?  I pray for His grace today that we will answer His desire to be fully conformed to the image of Christ.
He is looking for our willingness to fully surrender in agape to the Lord.   And if I may be so bold to say—ONLY THE BRIDE (a vessel formed and authored by His workmanship) WILL HAVE THE FULL NATURE OF THE LAMB in her internally(transformed, metamorphoo) now and in all of eternity (transfiguration).  They are one (wed together) in HIS NATURE—known eternally as a holy nation, a royal priesthood.  This is the Bridal paradigm!  It is a costly quest in the landscape of created time to know the LAMB—intimately, internally, unreservedly.
Are any distractions (naturally or spiritually) worthy of forfeiting this invitation?  Many are called but few are chosen.  Why?  The answer is clearly, unequivocally always a heart issue.  May God have mercy on us now and apprehend our hearts in this so great reality—to know Him.  And may I also be so frank to say that if our focus is in any other place other than the LAMB being the “object of our affection”—we will miss our time of visitation.  Selah!  LET THE KING OF GLORY IN!                                 ~Monica Miller-Ruhl   www.globaldestinyministry.com
THE BRIDAL PARADIGMthe Lord is the “is the object of our affection”.
Let nothing fall between it—that He might fully own our hearts.
BEHOLDING THE LAMB “face” to “face”/spirit to spirit= A vessel is fashioned.Capture this imagery below in the box diagram. See 2 faces one on each side of the obvious vessel/vase in the middle.
THE VESSEL= THE BRIDE who will eternally have her “Vocation with the LAMB”! The very NATURE OF THE LAMB IN THE BRIDE=UNION…His Nature living eternally in her=transfiguration…they are “one”. She takes the “name” of theLAMB=WEDDING. The LAMB reigns in her=a holy nation, a royal, kingly, priesthood. Divine Order: firstly internally/transformation=the vessel formed by HIS hand and eternally the glory of the LAMB in the vessel of distinction=transfiguration.
This the Father has promised to the Son for all of eternity, a Bride.
And this is our invitation to choose to become “one with the LAMB” now. May our eyes be opened to this eternal reality. Choose the LAMB and be made/conformed into HIS IMAGE!
