(Lake Forest, CA) — The wife of Pastor Rick Warren says her son’s suicide has “permanently marked” their family. Kay Warren wrote on Facebook last week she’s had people give “subtle and not so subtle” hints suggesting the Warrens move on from Matthew Warren’s death last April. But Kay Warren says the family can’t move on and there is a new normal for them. She also says sometimes it takes longer for people to mourn than others want them to and that true friends “love at all times.” Rick Warren says his wife’s column hit a nerve with grieving people who face “well-meaning but clueless reactions from others.”
