Postal Workers Protest At Staples Stores

Staples-Office-Supply-Retail-Store-WindowU.S. Postal workers protested around the country yesterday, objecting to the U.S. Postal Service’s pilot program to open counter service inside Staples stores, staffed with retail employees. Protests were planned at 50 locations in 27 states. Postal workers call the plan by the Postal Service “Union busting”. One protesters sign read, “Stop Staples The U,S. Mail is not for sale” Protester’s contend the program with Staples is a ‘backdoor way of privatizing the post office”.  Postal worker Robert Black said, “It seems as though they (U.S. Postal Service) are doing whatever they can to break down the union.”
