Let us pray over this awful situation. Crime is out of control in Albuquerque, now this! An Iraqi family fled from Iraq shortly after the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003 in part because her family was persecuted for being Catholic.
Frank Haley of KKIM News reports: Last week, a masked attacker forced his way into the family’s Northeast Heights apartment while Seham Jaber was alone. He punched her in the head and stomach while yelling obscenities about Muslims. The mad man also ripped up the family’s citizenship papers.
Police said the man burst into the apartment off Montgomery NE on June 5 after She answered the doorbell.
Albuquerque police said “It’s definitely a hate crime”
The attacker stole the family’s life savings, which they had converted into $20,000 to $30,000 in gold when they left the Middle East and stole another $2,800 in cash.
