Pastor Brenton Franks on Obama’s Speech: “Sad and thin attempt to define the world as he wants it to be”

Brenton 2It is baffling to me that the President started his speech last night by declaring that one main point he wants us to understand is that ISIL or ISIS is not Islamic…what????? Of course they are Islamic. That seems to be an amazing slap at the intelligence of all Americans. These extremists kill everyone who does not agree in their brand of the Islamic faith. That statement just has to make you doubt the entire premise the President is basing everything upon. Does he understand who and what we are fighting? It doesn’t sound like it. The problem with President Obama’s statement that ISIL or ISIS is not Islamic harkens back to the liberal belief that if you redefine something it is so. When I studied Communications at the University level, one of the Communication principles we were taught was, “He who controls the definition controls all.” This is a sad and thin attempt by our President to try to define the world as he wants it to be. Make no mistake, saying ISIS is not Islamic does not make them less Islamic or less radical it only puts a fake facade on a deadly problem. Beware of the attempts to redefine reality. A new definition does not change the truth.
