More bad news on the economic front for New Mexico, more layoffs. This time from the Medical field. This week I have been on the phone with many in the know about the New Mexico economy. The general consensus from my field of advisers, many who support the unemployed and hungry, not those that sit behind a desk and put forth “nothing noise”, my advisers are saying that the New Mexico economy is getting worse, not better.  We here at FGGAM have had an increase in calls in the last 30 days  from families in need of jobs and food. KOB TV reports: ABQ Health Partners cut staff by 5 percent Thursday, could amount to 63 layoffs dlvr.it/75B9Xw

From beautiful Chama, New Mexico comes word that the local radio station is set to sign off the air on October 31st. The Chama radio station like many, are hurting because of the economy. Scott Flury, who serves on the Town Council and at one time was part owner of KZRM, sent me a message that the station is set to go dark on October 31st. The station has had it’s up and downs over the years, maybe someone will step in at the last minute and save this station that has served the area so well over the years. Local radio is a vital part of our local communities throughout the United States. News and Views-Dewey
