My beloved brethren,
Imagine being able to bring the good news of Jesus to your neighborhood, city, state, country, other countries…….the world!
I remember being in a social setting some years ago. It was a gathering for families. I was talking with someone about my Sunday School class. During a pause, I heard this little voice, “What’s Sunday School?” I looked down to see a little boy looking up at me.
Another time, as I was writing out checks to pay the bills, I paused to tell Ron about going up to the altar to pray for some people that were going on a mission trip. As I was praying for them, I felt the Lord place the desire to be a missionary into my heart. It was like a physical insertion….I can’t explain it but I just know what it was.
Ron looked at me and said, “You ARE a missionary. Just look at your checks.”
My checks had salvation scriptures on the front as well as on the back where the receivers had to endorse!
That forever changed my view of what a missionary is. We ALL have opportunities to declare the awesome news of Jesus and salvation!
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
Lately, you can see how 2 Timothy 3 is happening right now! People are becoming more and more out of control, brutal, despisers of good…….and it’s going to get worse.
Paul tells us in 2 Timothy 4 to preach the Word, to be ready in season and out of season. People don’t know if they don’t hear.
Pastor Dewey’s life verse is:
Acts 20:24 My life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus.
Not all of us are able to go all over the world, but there is a way to be a missionary and spread the good news of Jesus and salvation.
For God’s Glory Alone Ministries reaches people all over the world! In 2014 alone, it touched over 5 million people! Praise Jesus! I have the honor of being one of the volunteer writers for this awesome ministry! It is a part of my mission field!
