IDF forces in the north of Israel were on maximum alert Monday as reports emerged that an airstrike in Syrian territory on Sunday targeting high-level members of the Lebanese Shi’ite terror militia Hezbollah, which foreign sources say was carried out by Israel, also killed an Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) General and some of his senior aides. Hezbollah immediately vowed to avenge the attack in which several of its senior operatives, including Jihad Mughniyeh, the son of slain arch-terrorist Imad Mughniyeh, were confirmed as killed.
