Jordan Gears Up For Intense Battle With ISIS

Map of the Levant (Illustrative)Jordan’s King Abdullah told his senior security advisors on Wednesday evening that his government would “wage relentless war” against the Islamic State (IS) terror militia which recently released a video of them burning captured Jordanian pilot Lt. Moaz al-Kasasbeh to death. “We are waging this war to protect our faith, our values and human principles and our war for their sake will be relentless and will hit them in their own ground,” he said in remarks broadcast on state television. The remarks come a day after Abdullah cut short his visit to the US, but not before meeting with senior congressional leaders and reportedly urging them to speed up sales of sophisticated weapons systems to his armed forces. In related news, a senior Kurdish official announced on Wednesday that the Kurdish factions battling IS would welcome foreign ground troops to help them in their struggle. Read More
