Alaska is the latest state to go to “pot”: Starting today, smoking, growing and owning small amounts of marijuana is legal in the Alaska. The regulations allow for anyone aged 21 or older to possess up to an ounce of marijuana and six plants, three of which can be flowering. Smoking in public, as well as buying and selling the drug, remains illegal — though private exchanges are allowed if money is not involved.
