A number of sources are claiming victory for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who announced his win but exit polls indicate it is almost a perfect tie.
Voting in Israel’s parliamentary elections has ended with exit polls showing an extremely tight race between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his center-left challenger. Exit polls conducted by the country’s three major TV stations late Tuesday gave mixed results, showing a close race between Netanyahu’s Likud Party and opposition leader Isaac Herzog’s Zionist Union.
Two polls showed the parties deadlocked with 27 seats each in the 120-member Knesset, and a third gave Likud a slight lead of 28-27.
