We ask for prayers for the Americans being held captive in North Korea and their families while former basketball star Dennis Rodman prepares for another trip to see his “friend” who is ultimately responsible for their continued detention and other numerous human rights violations.
In his last visit to North Korea, Rodman told Kim Jong Un, “Your have a friend for life,” and it appears Dennis Rodman was serious. He just can’t seem to get enough of North Korea or his friend who he refers to as, “a very good guy.” I’d ask Dennis, while he’s there, to visit those Americans being detained and get their opinion on exactly what a good friend Un really is!
The retired basketball star is headed back to the reclusive country for his third visit this year on December 18. He plans to spend several days helping train the North Korean basketball team which will play at least one exhibition game against former NBA players in January according to Paddy Power, the UK-based online betting company sponsoring Rodman’s trip. Rodman will be traveling with a documentary crew but it is not clear whether he will meet with his buddy, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
Even though Rodman says he is not an official diplomat between the North Korea and the United States, he believes in “basketball diplomacy.” He tweeted, “I’m not a politician. Kim Jung Un & North Korean people are basketball fans.” I love everyone. Period. End of story.”
