Last night in Magdalena, New Mexico a microburst of wind struck the Baptist Church during teen movie night.
Pastor Paul Holt of FGGAM, who is the Pastor of the Church reported this:
Yesterday, as we were having our youth movie night a microburst of wind ripped a
chunk of the roof off of the church and sent a piece of the roof across into an
empty field. Men from the church and the neighborhood came together to reattach
the parts of the roof that we’re still in place securing them for later repair.
We were able to temporize the roof using the tarp screwed into place in the
place on the roof also until we can get the roof repaired. Praise the Lord no
one was hurt and no vehicles were damaged. This will be an opportunity to make
sure that the church’s roof is in good working order.
I told Pastor Paul that it is a miracle nobody was hurt and he replied, “It really is because that section of the roof was right over the main auditorium where all the children were.”
