JERUSALEM, Israel — A new Pew Research study reveals that most Muslims believe Islam is the only true faith and its teachings should influence not only their personal lives but also the societies in which they live.
The ambitious research project, entitled “The World’s Muslims: Religion, Politics and Society,” is based on more than 38,000 face-to-face interviews with Muslims residents of 39 countries in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
The survey found that most Muslims support Sharia (Islamic) law and believe their religious leaders should influence political issues in their respective countries.
A majority of respondents in the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia want Sharia to be the official law of the land.
- 99 percent in Afghanistan
- 72 percent in Indonesia
- 71 percent in Nigeria
- 74 percent in Egypt
- 89 percent in the Palestinian areas
Forty percent of Muslims residing in the Palestinian Authority — four out of 10 — consider suicide bombing as “often or sometimes” justifiable, a percentage point higher than Afghan Muslims.
Christians believe the exact same thing. That its the only true faith and its teachings should influence not only their personal lives but also the societies in which they live. Christians believe their leaders can and should influence politics. And they support Christian (biblical) laws.
What’s your point?
The point being that Jesus Christ our Lord is the only way to heaven. A personal relationship with our Lord is the key. There is only one God and I know Him. The Bible is the Bread of life.
As a Christian I will spend the rest of my life fulfilling the Great Commission and sharing the light of Jesus with the rest of the World and making the Kingdom of God visible to the darkness. AMEN! Thank you for the question.
I also should add the write should be a wake up to Christians that we must be out and fulfilling the Great Commission, The Lord says to occupy until He returns. Occupy in his love and Word. Bring others into the Kingdom. God Bless
I’m afraid you just made Terry Q’s point, Dewey. Does the survey say anything about Muslims in America? I’d be curious to know where they fall in the survey. Oh, and the one God you speak of is also the God of Judaism…and Islam…
