PRAISE GOD for role models like Tim Tebow! Why can’t this guy get hooked up with an NFL team? The NFL is a dark place, it needs the light of Tebow! A Virginia teenager battling a potentially life-threatening illness got more than she bargained for when she contacted former NFL quarterback Tim Tebow’s foundation in the hope of getting to meet her hero.
Haley Burke, who has Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, was flown to Arizona along with her family and stayed in the presidential suite at a Scottsdale resort for four days courtesy of the Tim Tebow Foundation, according to reports.
During their stay, Burke toured the Grand Canyon by air, was treated to a lavish day at a spa, and threw out the first pitch at an Arizona Diamondbacks game.
However, the highlight of the trip for Burke was being able to spend time with Tebow during a personal training session. He also surprised her and her family by joining them for dinner that night.
“They’re amazing,” Tebow said. “The entire time I was with them, I was so inspired by their strength and courage in facing every day and every struggle with a positive attitude.”
Burke’s trip was part of the Tim Tebow Foundation W15H program, which provides once-in-a-lifetime experiences to children facing life-threatening illnesses.
“Other than my faith and family, my foundation is the most important thing in my life,” Tebow told the magazine. “It allows me to keep so many things in perspective, and it gives me the opportunity to bring people together to invest in the lives of children all around the world.”
