In a nod to concerns by Christian moviegoers, Paramount Pictures has agreed to admit that its upcoming “Noah” movie is not exactly the same story that’s in the Bible. The studio announced that it had agreed with the National Religious Broadcasters to add an explanatory message to its marketing materials for “Noah,” starring Russell CroweRussell Crow and directed by Darren Aronofsky. Paramount said its decision came in the wake of efforts by Jerry A. Johnson, president and CEO of the National Religious Broadcasters , to clarify that the movie is a dramatization and not a line-by-line retelling of the Bible story.

  1. I hear pastors recount stories from the Bible and they explain that his how they imagine it, not a literal interpretation. Also when I read non-fiction books, authors recount stories based on their interpretations of what may have happened between the lines based on their personal experiences. I have yet to see but a couple of Christian movies that were line by line literal interpretation of the Scripture. Most movies, nonfiction books, and sermons use artistic license to make a point. Kudos to Paramount Pictures for stating the fact they used “imaginative interpretation” in advance so that movie goers know up front it is not a literal rendering of the account in Genesis. Blessings-
