NM Legislature: SB 121, No Conversion Therapy Bill Will Be Heard Wednesday

New Mexico Watchman Jose Vasquez

                                                                              Tuesday, March 7, 2017
Dear Praying Friends,

The latest assault on the American family is disallowing families the right to counseling.  If SB 121: No Conversion Therapy, (Candelaria, Romero) passes in New Mexico, the state will place restrictions on the type of therapy sexually confused boys and girls can receive.  The law is a stark invasion of a family’s right to privacy and decision making within the confines of the family unit.
The proposed law is also a violation of a person’s First Amendment right to free speech, in addition to violating the right of privacy within the therapist/client relationship.  The Supreme Court in Roe v Wade established the right to privacy nationally and this has been the national standard.
SB 121: No Conversion Therapy
is to be heard tomorrow morning
Wednesday, March 8
at the Capitol at
8:30 a.m. in Room 315.
The bill has passed the Senate and is being heard in the House Health and Human Services Committee, Rep. Gail Armstrong, Chair.
Please help oppose SB 121: No Conversion Therapy by praying for our legislators and please contact the members of the committee listed below.  Urge them to VOTE NO on SB 121: No Conversion Therapy.
