What is the Baptism in the Holy Spirit?

FGGAM Photo of Pastor Dewey Moede Baptizing Eddilu. Brown at a Revival at FBC in Reserve, NM Please pray for her health at this time.

The picture above is so very precious to me! I had the blessing of baptizing Eddilu Brown at the FBC in Reserve, NM several years ago at a revival. Look at Eddilu’s joy!!!!!!!!!! Her family and all of us were so thrilled for her!!!!!!!! The picture of Eddilu is held in my memory forever. It is one of the main reasons I still preach, to see the HOLY SPIRIT move in and take over!!!!!!! Some ask me when I am going to retire, it is getting tougher to be a preacher of the WORD, but I will continue on until the LORD says no more. Thinking of Eddielu is one of the things that keeps me going.

I served on and off for 10 years at FBC in Reserve. I learned so much about JESUS and people. JESUS and congregation taught me much. I am thankful that Pastor Sheldon Wolf is now the full-time Pastor. Sheldon is doing a great work for our LORD at FBC! Please pray for Sheldon’s grandpa Paul, he was in a terrible accident and is at UNM. Please pray for Paul’s healing and comfort for the family. Preaching at FBC was like going to seminary for 10 years. I can never repay the folks in Reserve for all they did for me and Sharon and FGGAM. I miss them very much. I fully admit before the LORD that is was hard to let go of this assignment. I have a problem of letting go. FBC in Reserve helped make me the man I am today. I am not perfect. I would like on my tombstone, “construction complete.”

Please get your hands on Charles Stanley’s book, “Living in the Power of the Holy Spirit.” Without the Holy Spirit we are powerless.

From Joe Long in CHURCHLEADERS:

I recently had an opportunity to minister to men at a large camp where the Holy Spirit was present and active. The large majority of the men I spoke with not only knew who the Holy Spirit was, but could often recite something the Spirit does in the life of believers. Things like being our helper, our advocate, and so on, but where not familiar with the phrase baptism in the Holy Spirit. It reminded me of a passage from the book of Acts:

While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul took a route through the interior and came to Ephesus, where he found some disciples. He asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you came to believe?” More Here
