Good morning Dewey’s Daily Cup Readers!
I hope you are having a blessed day!
We can learn so much about God’s plan for us through His Creation! This week there have been some amazing skies! Occasionally, we stumble upon a perfect day where the air is dressed with perfection! Those days seem few and far between, but still God does bless us with glimpses of perfection!
A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I were talking on the front porch on one of these special dressed days. As we marveled at a buzzard soaring so majestically high in the sky, Rob said, “Isn’t it amazing how a buzzard can look so beautiful in the air, but ‘exceptionally’ ugly on the ground and sitting in a dead tree!” LOL
Well we had a good laugh; and a spontaneous conversation about how God reveals spiritual messages to us through His Creation. Tonight, as we were having dinner, Dewey kindly asked me to join you today. Please take a quiet moment to pray for Dewey and his family; and pray also for our pastors around the world. Please pray for all those requesting prayer –and pray also for those in need but don’t reach out to the Church who knows Jesus as God’s Son.
While texting Dewey, he also shared how going through all the difficulties with his doggies, Reno and Buffy, how he has learned how to appreciate living in the moment!
This made me think of the buzzard in the tree and also of my wind chime which says, “Live simply, Expect less, Give more.” Living in the moments appreciating what is really important in life. Soaring more than sitting on the ground. Looking to hope and always believing!
Somehow, I believe the Spirit of the Lord will tie all this together –heart to heart!
Always remember how important you are to God; and also according to your purpose in your ministry gifts from Jesus! You have immense and incredible value to God! God loves you so much! And, this is really cool –that God in His great Wisdom gives us power together to do great things for the glory of God to be seen in this fading world! Fading to glory –yet still blessed as long as God calls it Today!
Power together (Together) is the key word I believe in Today!
Amazingly, Unity seems to be growing more and more in the Church! The Church is rising up!
Know your value –and know you belong to the Truth!
I hope the below writing is a blessing to you.
Love in Christ,
Karen (Hope in Today Ministries)
Word up “I belong” –by Karen Rowe August 16, 2014
Do you ever feel disconnected; and think that you just don’t fit in anywhere? Do you ever worry –that you can’t seem to love your children right –perhaps with a downcast thought that you don’t fit in with your family? Do you ever think that perhaps God made a mistake trusting you in the job you do?
Do you ever blame yourself to the point that you are tempted to think that you don’t fit in –even with knowledge of knowing you are loved?
Word up Today is “I belong”!
Today, I prayed that I could share a message from God with you to demonstrate to you that you do have extreme and extraordinary value and worth to God –and also, incredible value and worth in your purpose that is in this world for those you love with a love that God built in your heart –because you belong to the Truth!
If you believe in Jesus as your Savior and Lord, say this out loud with me: “I belong to the Truth!”
If you have not made your decision to believe in Jesus as your Savior –then after you read this, if you feel the Lord Jesus tug at your heart to come near to Him, I invite you to pray with me a prayer of Salvation to invite Jesus to live in your heart!
Today, we shall open the Word of God and turn to 1 John 3:19!
1 John 3:19 New International Version (NIV) + Amplified Bible (AMP),
19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence:
19 By this we shall come to know (perceive, recognize, and understand) that we are of the Truth, and can reassure (quiet, conciliate, and pacify) our hearts in His presence
READ the NEXT VERSE!!!
1 John 3:20 (NIV) (KJV) (ESV)
20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.
20 For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
20 for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything.
1 John 3 New International Version (NIV)
3 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears,[a] we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. 3 All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.
4 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. 5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. 6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. 9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. 10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.
More on Love and Hatred
11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.12 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous.13 Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters,[b] if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death. 15 Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.
16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. 17 If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 18 Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.
19 This is how we know that we belong to the truth and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence: 20 If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything. 21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God 22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. 23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. 24 The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.
Footnotes:
- 1 John 3:2 Or when it is made known
- 1 John 3:13 The Greek word for brothers and sisters (adelphoi) refers here to believers, both men and women, as part of God’s family; also in verse 16.
1 John 4 New International Version (NIV)
On Denying the Incarnation (TEST THE SPIRITS)
4 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.
4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5 They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit[a] of truth and the spirit of falsehood.
God’s Love and Ours
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
13 This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit.14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. 16 And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. 17 This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
19 We love because he first loved us. 20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 21 And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister.

Matthew 4 New International Version (NIV)
Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness
4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil.2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[b]”
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[c]”
7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[d]”
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’[e]”
11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
Jesus Begins to Preach
12 When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, he withdrew to Galilee.13 Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali— 14 to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:
15 “Land of Zebulun and land of Naphtali,
the Way of the Sea, beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the Gentiles—
16 the people living in darkness
have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death
a light has dawned.”[f]
17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
Jesus Calls His First Disciples
18 As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 19 “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”20 At once they left their nets and followed him.
21 Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.
Jesus Heals the Sick
23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them. 25 Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis,[g] Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.

On behalf of the Moede family, we thank you all for your love and prayers, they mean so much. Your prayers keep us going forward. I had such a lovely conversation with DeEtta and Ken Coe this morning from Laporte, Indiana. As many as you know DeEtta’s Mom recently passed onto heaven. We pray for continued healing. I also had a great talk with Bob Dawson of Kingsford, Hieghs, Indiana…you may recall Bob has been diagnosed with prostrate cancer. We are PRAISING GOD that Bob got the report that the cancer has not spread to other parts of his body, that it is localized. Bob meets with the Doctor next week for a plan of treatment. Let us pray for healing. In Jesus name, Amen! Our son Lar’s is moving into a new apartment this weekend, it is to cut costs, please keep him in your prayers. We love all our kid’s and doyy’s so much!
Something I am going to leave you with…..to chew on……….when I was at the MVD yesterday getting new tags for the car……..a lady was asked if she wanted to be an organ donor. She said no. Let me encourage you to pray over this if you are not: My cousin Barb Nelson told me the other day that when her daughter Tiffany was killed a year ago in that motorcycle wreck in Sturgis, SD., her organs and skin have helped 437 people in a years time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even people right here in New Mexico! What a PRASISE note! Tiffany is in heaven but she is still helping people here on earth!!! WOW! WOW! If you are not an organ donor, would you please pray about it?
We pray that you and yours have a safe Labor Day Weekend.
For God’s Glory in the love of our Lord Jesus Christ, Dewey, Sharon, family and FGGAM Team
